Your Impact: How Your Donation Protects the Yellow River and its Watershed
Every dollar you contribute directly fuels high-leverage, science-backed conservation efforts to keep the Yellow River clean, resilient, and thriving for generations to come. YRPC is a volunteer based 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization with your donation going directly to assist in protecting the Yellow River and its watershed. Below is a list of our programs that need your support.
1. Buy-Protect-Sell-Repeat | Permanent Land Preservation
We strategically acquire high-priority ecologically sensitive land in the Yellow River Watershed and attach strict legal development restrictions to permanently safeguard water quality, and resell the property to conservation-minded buyers.
Your Gift Powers: Closing costs, real estate interest, legal fees, and deed restriction creation—allowing us to recycle capital and continuously protect more parcels.
2. Guardians of the River | Landowner Stewardship & Incentives
To stop harmful runoff at the source, we partner directly with shoreline, woodland, agricultural, wetland, and residential landowners to implement Best Management Practices, Conservation Easements, and Protective Covenants.
Your Gift Powers: Direct landowner stipends (currently $200–$500) and recognition awards to members. Higher funding allows us to boost these incentives, driving widespread community participation.
3. Stream Monitoring | Science-Backed Water Quality Defense
Our dedicated volunteer network monitors critical health indicators across 9 key river sites—tracking water temperature, clarity, dissolved oxygen, flow, macroinvertebrates, and phosphorus levels.
Your Gift Powers: Essential monitoring gear ($400/site) and certified phosphorus lab analysis ($300/site annually) to ensure our conservation decisions are driven by real-time data.

For individuals donating by Credit Card or PayPal you have an opportunity to send us a message when you are entering your contact, and credit card information. To designate your donation to a specific YRPC program please indicate this in the Message input field. If you do not specify a specific program your donation will be placed in our general fund which is managed by our Executive Board members to best support the YRPC Mission.
For individuals donating by check, you need to select a program when completing the donation form prior to sending it to YRPC.
